The Whimsy Mercantile is a little bit of a lot of wonderful things. It’s a shop featuring handmade crafts from over a dozen talented vendors, thrifted treasures, herbal remedies, skin care, and tea. Each month, the space hosts a wide variety of community events including book clubs, role-playing games, paint nights, shamanic journeys, Cosmic Smash Booking, and even physical therapy.
The Whimsy Mercantile has moved to the Virgil Community Living Center located at 1208 Church Street in Cortland, NY 13045 (formerly the Virgil Elementary School). Just look for the building at the 4 corners in Virgil. Use the parking lot at the rear of the building. Enter through the front door, go straight through the office, take your first left, and the shop is at the end of the hall.

Join the Whimsy’s Death-Centered Book Club
The Whimsy Mercantile has its own book club where we read a death-centered or grief related book each month and discuss our feelings around the topic in a safe, supportive atmosphere. It’s fun and healing at the same time. The book club is run by a death doula and a librarian, what more could you ask for?!
